Welcome to our Poultry Pre-Order Program!
Experience the ultimate in flavor and quality with our pasture-raised poultry, nurtured on organic feed and open fields. Each bird, with a minimum weight of 5 lb (some even get above 6 lbs!), promises a bountiful yield of delicious and nutritious meat.
For just $30.50 per bird, only $5-$6/lb, relish in premium, ethically and organically raised poultry that's good for you and the environment. Simplify meal prep with our optional $5 breakdown service. We also offer the option to order breasts, thighs/legs, and wings separately. We also offer feet, which make some of the best bone broth around.
Not enough freezer space to buy all at once? We offer direct, on-demand orders to our local customers by the lb if you do not want to worry about storing them in your own freezer.
At the heart of our farmstead lies a passion for sustainable farming practices and healthy living. We give all the glory to God. Chickens come into this world destined to scratch and peck, and this natural behavior is fully embraced at Ramble On Farmstead. Within our comprehensive, multi-species, holistic grazing program, our pasture-raised poultry play a vital role in the ecosystem. These birds enjoy unrestricted movement across our expansive pastures, where they diligently search for insects and grubs beneath the soil. We are proud to emphasize that our poultry never encounter antibiotics, artificial growth hormones, steroids, or other similar treatments. Every step of our poultry processing takes place on-site, aligning with our commitment to zero-waste practices. It's important to note that all our animals, including poultry, are raised in an environment that strictly prohibits antibiotics, steroids, additional growth hormones, and other similar treatments.
Elevate your table with the freshest poultry, indulge in the essence of nature, and support local farming - pre-order today!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are the birds fed organic, soy free, and corn free?
A: Yes to all three! We use New Country Organics soy free and corn free feed.
Q: What is the difference between your chicken and the chicken I buy at the store?
A: Not only are our birds raised on organic feed and ethically provided an amazing life full of freedom to scratch and roam green pastures, this lifestyle results in far more nutritious food and improvement of our soil and the environment in general. To quote Joel Salatin: "People “get” that they eat well to be well—but I think what trips them up, what they don’t understand is that every pork chop is not the same, every egg is not the same, every tomato is not the same. They assume that every tomato is the same and every pork chop is the same, and that’s simply not true." https://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/interview-with-joel-salatin-polyface-farms-land-healing-ethic/
Q: How are the birds kept healthy?
A: The birds are given plenty of space and clean, green pasture every day along with fermented feed, vitamins, quality food and an overall lifestyle that promotes robust health.
Q: Do you charge extra if the bird is more than 5 lbs?
A: No, this is the beauty of the pre-order. All birds are a flat rate so you almost always end up with extra meat on the bone.
Q: How does delivery to Colorado work?
A: We do not offer shipping to Colorado as it simply does not make sense with the costs associated. We offer free delivery to Colorado that is contingent on enough orders being placed. All Colorado orders will be held until the minimum order count is reached, at which point, we will reach out to collect funds. The minimum order amount is 200.
Q: What does break down the bird mean?
A: We will separate the breasts, wings/thighs, and legs from the carcass. Some people like this because it takes up less space and some like it because they will not cook a whole bird. Others prefer the whole bird so they get the carcass. We love using the carcass to make soups and bone broth.
Q: How do you package the birds?
A: We use poultry shrink wrap bags.
Q: Orders close in August but delivery is not until November or January. Why is there such a gap in order and delivery?
A: We need time to order the birds and raise them. This takes 10-12 weeks. We also like to time the trip to Colorado during a time most people are not traveling so we wait until after the holidays.
Q: Are the birds frozen?
A: Yes.
